So, I've been attending a Logic class, and started thinking about why the Church of Scientology hates psychiatrists and therapists so much. My answer was a thoroughly awesome analogy that I just had to share, touchy lawyers be damned.
The Church of Scientology is a vampire, and its weakness is common sense. And when I say "vampire", I don't mean the friendly type like Edward Cullen. I mean the *very strong expletive* Volturi - the vicious, predatory, thoroughly immoral kind of vampire.
Like Count Dracula of horror movie fame, the Church of Scientology attacks the vulnerable and deludes and charms its victims into its clutches, with hypnotic promises of salvation from imperfection and pain. Once it has them, it sucks them dry via membership and auditing fees. As it does this, it also solidifies its control over their minds, much like Dracula's bite would transform its victims into lesser vampires enslaved to his will. Yes, as Dracula says in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, "Perhaps the same could be said of all religions" - heck, the medieval Catholic Church operated in a fashion much like the Church of Scientology does today. But seriously, at least the Catholic Church realized that what it was doing didn't live up to the doctrines set up by its founder! Jesus Christ was, if not the Son of God, nevertheless a selfless and tireless mentor figure who constantly worked to instill virtue and hope in his fellow men and women, even at the ultimate price to himself. And this is also true of the other major established religions, like Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, Shintoism, etc. - they're all first and foremost supposed to be guides to living a good, virtuous, and happy life (as well as answers to the deepest mysteries of the universe). Ol' Ron Hubbard was a despicable con man who the Earth is much better off without. He treated religion like it was a money-making business (or, to be more precise, a pyramid scheme), but it's supposed to be a venture to improve the human condition and keep the darker side of human nature on a tight leash. Now, as for completing the vampire analogy - psychiatrists are to the Church of Scientology what sunlight, crosses, garlic, running water, etc. are to vampires. Psychiatrists specialize in helping people live mentally healthy lives and dragging them out of unhealthy psychological ruts - ruts like getting deluded and swindled by the Church of Scientology (or any cult, for that matter). The Church of Scientology knows that psychiatrists are uniquely qualified to shred their web of deception, and so attempts to vilify the profession so that its own villainy will be concealed. It all makes perfect sense - psychiatrists are pretty much the Belmonts who slay evil (read: Scientology) and restore happiness to the people. And that's pretty much all I have to say here. 'Till next time!

Stream of Consciousness - I lost count
So, some time ago, CalypsoEchidna revealed on her Twitter that she has Tourette's Syndrome, and just yesterday, she revealed a story where it almost caused her to tumble down the stairs and would have probably crippled or killed her if her brother hadn't been around to catch her… yikes. Anyways, that got me thinking while lying in bed this morning — having Tourette's has got to be rough for an artist. Think about it — you could be working on a brushstroke when you suddenly have a tic, your brush goes wild, and your painting is ruined. Ow. Just ow. Thank God for the digital age and undo buttons!
Pokemon Idea - Regiumbra
I've been listening to ManOnTheInternet's lyrical rendition of "Chaos King" over and over recently, and the awesome music has inspired me to make a Pokémon based on the Spade King from Deltarune. To make things more interesting, I decided to also make this new Pokémon an anti-Regigigas. So, I now introduce Regiumbra, the Despot Pokémon!
Name: Regiumbra
Type: Dark
Ability: Unsustainable Battle-Lust (This Pokémon gets +1 stage to all its stats (except for Accuracy and Evasion) when it enters battle, but gets -1 stage to all its stats (except for Accuracy and Evasion) at the end of every third turn (starting the turn after
Stream of Consciousness #idunno
I was pondering about the nature of violence a few days ago, and then I had an interesting revelation — no application of force is unidirectional. Newton's Third Law — "For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction" — means that any application of force will impact its origin as well as its target. Because of this, it is impossible to hurt another without also hurting oneself. Punching a person batters and bruises one's knuckles; swinging a club or throwing a rock causes one's shoulders to heave and buckle; firing a gun makes the gun lurch backwards into one's palm. Weapons can absorb and cushion the backlash of
Did... Did I just get banned from KnowYourMeme?
So, I was looking to check in on Know Your Meme this morning, and I noticed that the interface had abruptly changed, my user page was gone, and I was logged out and couldn't log back in. On checking my e-mail account, I noticed a message stating that I was banned for "2 warns, 2 suspensions, ignoring repeated warnings, undoing mod edits, NC uploads, furry vageebees". Now, I'm really not sure what any of this is referring to. I've contacted the mod team, and hopefully this unfortunate misunderstanding will be cleared up soon.
EDIT: I have not received any word from the mod team despite three attempts to contact them. At this point, I think I
